In Year 4 we make every effort to achieve our best. We believe that offering our children a creative and stimulating curriculum based on first hand learning experiences, makes learning fun and challenging for all. We assist children to build their confidence, independence and encourage risk taking to develop important life skills, and a lifelong love of learning.
In November 2016, Year 4 had the privilege of performing a play to celebrate the birthday of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Year 4 have been learning about Great Artist during Spring term, Pablo Picasso and Van Gogh.
The Year 4 Scientists, experimented with conductors and insulators of electricity, by making their own circuit. They are now in the middle of making their own electric operated Quiz Boards.
For literacy, we are reading Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. Here is our display of Harry Potter’s bedroom ‘The Cupboard Under the Stairs’. We create immersive environments to provide the best experience for the learning of children.
World Book Day March 2017
For World Book day, Year 4 celebrated by reading two books, ‘The Billionaire Boy’ by David Walliams. We had a Dragons Den competition in our class. The children created their own inventions and then presented them to the rest of the class.
Our second book was ‘The Jolly Postman’ by Jane and Alan Ahlberg. Year 4 created their own book as a whole class, titled ‘The Jolly Post Man and letters from Year 4’.
The pupils enjoyed dressing up as their favourite book character.
