Parent Partnership in Reception
One of the ways we share your children’s learning is via their online learning journeys on Tapestry, a securely stored electronic Learning Journal. Parents can access their child’s journal via a password protected app or website, or can view it on a device in school. The children can access their journal at school as a downloaded iBook via one of our class ipads.
Emails are sent out when information is updated to tapestry and teachers also post ‘regular ‘What we learnt in reception class this week’ posts.
Tapestry allows parents to not only see what their children have been up to in class but to be a part of their child’s learning journey by uploading their own photos, videos and notes or just ‘liking’ what you see.
We also invite parents to different events and activities such as phonics workshops, sharing school dinners with your children and visiting the classroom to see your children’s folder of work and classroom.
Our most recent activity for parents was an invite to see our fantastic Art Gallery that the children created work for as part of our ‘How many colours in a rainbow topic?’ Staff, children and their families had a fantastic time talking about the arts and crafts on display and how/why they had been created.
